Terms and Conditions

Please read the following Terms & Conditions which outline our obligations to you and your responsibilities to us.

Bookings

You can make a payment through our online booking form via our website or through an approved travel agent. The person making the booking (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Lead Name’) must be 18 years old or over and possess the legal capacity and authority to make the booking and accepts these booking conditions on behalf of everyone in their party

You can pay by credit or debit card either over the phone or by email. You can pay a deposit to secure your booking, or pay in full. Full payment must be made no later than three weeks (21 days) prior to departure. Once we have received payment we will email you a receipt and confirmation. If full payment is not received three weeks (21 days) prior to your departure date, cancellation will be assumed.

Your safety is very important to us, you must advise us prior to booking any condition, medical or otherwise that may affect you or other people’s enjoyment.

All bookings must be confirmed by us. If the tour has not been confirmed 21 days before the starting date you will be fully refunded. We require more than 5 people to confirm a tour. Tours are very rarely cancelled and generally all tours are confirmed months in advance! For reference, only one tour has been cancelled in five years of business.

Date Changes

We understand sometimes plans change, if after your booking you would like to make a date change, you can. An administrative fee of 30 USD / 20 GBP is applicable. Please contact us with your request at least 28 days prior to departure.

Name Changes

If for any reason you need to cancel your trip but you have a friend who would like to take your place then the normal cancellation & booking policy is applicable. We can not replace your original booking with another person.

Cancellations and Refunds

If you need to cancel your booking you must do so in writing (by mail or e-mail). If you cancel your booking the following charges will apply:

  • For cancellations received more than 28 days prior to departure the deposit will be lost.
  • For cancellations received less than 28 days prior to departure full payment will be lost.

No cancellation fees will be waived as a result of the following:

  • Injury or sickness
  • Delayed, rescheduled or missed flights.
  • Climatic, social or political problems.
  • Pandemics, Epidemics, Bird flu, Swine flu, SARS, Leprosy, Shingles, Pink eye, Rickets or Chaffed lips.

However, you may be able to have any cancellation fees refunded by your Travel Insurance company – subject to their terms.

Travel Insurance

You will need to have Travel Insurance that covers you for your Backpacking Through Bali tour. You must enter your travel insurance information in the login section at least three weeks (21 days) prior to departure.

Changes in Itinerary

Please be aware: Accommodation and itinerary may change without notice during our tour development stage. 

Certain activities on the tour are weather dependent. In most cases, if an activity is cancelled due to inclement weather we will swap days in the itinerary to accommodate those changes or the activity will be replaced with another activity of equal or greater value. Due to scheduling restrictions, there are certain activities that cannot be changed in the itinerary. These activities include: island-hopping in Gili T, SUP tour in Nusa Lembongan, and visiting temples such as Uluwatu or Ulun Danu. 

Please note, accommodation may change from tour to tour depending on season, availability and the total number of guests on a tour.

Baggage

We’re afraid Backpacking Through Bali will not be held responsible for any loss or theft of baggage or belongings. Travel Insurance is compulsory for Backpacking Through Bali. We recommend that you lock your bag with a padlock when left unattended.

Conduct

We know that everyone wants to have a good time. All we ask is that you agree to comply with the authority and decisions of the Backpacking Through Bali staff. We reserve the right to ask anyone who is deliberately not complying, or causing trouble, to leave the group. In the event you are asked to leave the group no refund will be given and you will have no claim against Backpacking Through Bali. We ask you respect the Balinese culture and your fellow travel companions.

Limitations of Liability

We cannot be held responsible for any loss as a result of failure of any third-parties (including Airlines, Tour Operators & Hoteliers), however we will give every reasonable assistance in helping you to resolve any dispute.

The responsibility of Backpacking Through Bali as a Tour Operator is limited. We are not liable for any personal injury, death, damage, loss, accident or delay which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle, or through the acts of default of any company or person engaged in conveying you or carrying out the arrangements of the tour or otherwise in connection therewith.

Extra activities and accommodation

Extras may be booked before the tour begins such as extra accommodation. All extra trips must be paid for before the event. Extra accommodation must be paid within 7 days of the tour starting date. We may ask you to leave the group if you fail to comply. In the event you are asked to leave the group, no refund will be given and you will have no claim against Backpacking Through Bali.

Shared accommodation (dorms) may be mixed gender unless requested.

Security Policy

When purchasing from Backpacking Through Bali your financial details are passed through a secure server using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology. 128-bit SSL and is the industry standard. Privacy Policy

Your email address and personal information is safe with us and we will not share to anyone else.

Backpacking Through Bali reserve the right to withdraw or change the terms of any special offers without notice.

Discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
